Poems

After the Deluge

From the August 2010 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I get it now,
God has been calling me to build an ark.
I remember how
He called me before,
But I did not build.
I almost drowned in the deluge that came,
And then almost in my own tears
As I realized that not building was my choice,
Yet I was spared.
I will build this time.
All that will drown is stubborn rebellion
Against Love's guidance and protection.
Only obedience can save me.
This time I am building.
