HAVING REACHED four score years and ten, I think it's time to submit this testimony of my gratitude to God for a life enriched and overflowing with His blessings, and for what Christian Science has meant to me.
My mother had lost two babies in earlier years, and I spent much of my school years in hospitals. At the age of eleven, two specialists who operated on me, told my parents that the operation was a success, but I would not outlive my teens.
A neighbor of an aunt suggested the purchase of a book, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, and that we pay close attention to the last paragraph on page 442, which reads, "Christian Scientists, be a law to yourselves that mental malpractice cannot harm you either when asleep or when awake." She also asked me to learn Psalm 91 and attend the Christian Science Sunday School.
