In spring 2010, young Christian Scientists participated in two TMC Youth Summits in Atlanta and New York City. Both summits featured entertainment, lectures, and discussions on topics such as "Sharing Christian Science" and "Primary Class Instruction." TMC Youth Summits aren't just a place to gather with other young Christian Scientists; they provide a basis for spiritual growth and progress. Here are some of the participants' thoughts after attending the Southeast or New York City Summits.
The Summit was an amazing and transformational experience. I was going through some of the toughest times of my life—a failed marriage, symptoms of depression, and a questioning of my relationship with God and how I fit in the "big picture." I turned back to Christian Science to stop taking this wonderful Comforter for granted. Through my prayers, I was compelled to join the Summit organizational committee, and was also able to attend the events. What a wonderful opportunity! So many answers to the questions I'd been asking seemed clearer, and anxiety over my life's direction melted away. I had wanted to be more active in the Christian Science movement, but didn't know where to begin—the Summit was the beginning for mel I've since become a member of my branch Church, and I'm actively considering Primary class instruction. Now, I feel more comfortable bringing up Christian Science in a conversation with my friends, and find their receptivity to it very exciting and gracious. Attending the Summit was a catalyst to the road of self-discovery.
