The garden that was once her childhood playground is today what one might call Anne-Françoise Bouffé’s “prayground.” She grew up in Clamart, just a few miles outside Paris, France. She and her husband built a home on a portion of land that had been her parents’ estate—and today that same garden is a beloved respite for study and quiet.
First Church of Christ Scientist, Paris, is another place she still calls home, having attended Sunday School there as a small child—and later teaching Sunday School for more than 30 years.
Before becoming a Christian Science practitioner and teacher, while her children were still small, Anne-Françoise lectured in art, holding a one-year position at the Art Institute of the Sorbonne, before going on to teach history and geography in secondary schools.
