Poems

Capability

From the October 2011 issue of The Christian Science Journal

my Father paints my consciousness—
full-formed, intact, complete.
I can have no thought of sickness,
of accident, defeat.

His artistry is beauteous,
no least scintilla flawed.
the body of His thoughtfulness—
my body is of God.

He is my Mind of righteousness—
temptation is unknown.
I’m fully free of wickedness—
God’s lawfulness is shown.

my Life and Mind can never end—
my thought is fearless, free.
I’m as capable as God is—
His functioning is me.
