God in total control
Thanks to Brian Webster for his article, “True deliverance,” in the Journal of September 2015.
To quote from the article: “Deliverance is an uncompromising affirmation of the immutability of God’s perfection, where affliction is unknown and harmony reigns supreme—as described in the first chapter of Genesis.” The author demonstrated this so beautifully as God safely carried him and his bicycle through heavy traffic to an island of safety, untouched by a very daunting challenge.
Sharing the blessing
[Of Good Report, “The opposite of good,” Anne Hughes, September 2015, Journal]
Thank you for sharing the blessing. The “opposite of good” was a most helpful insight for me. Of course, good, God, and Truth are synonymous, so it makes sense that the opposites of all the synonyms for God are lies, illusions—but I had never thought about it that way. It was also helpful to see how that truth realized brought about healing.
Enlightening article
In her article, “Three important concepts in healing: cause, substance, and law,” in the August Journal, Barbara Fife has enlightened my path beyond measure. It is clear, concise, to the point, and one that can be shared with those new to Christian Science or simply curious as to “how it works.”
At the same time, it reinforces the basics to us who have studied this Science many years. I’ve read it so many times I’ve almost memorized it! It is the antidote for society’s focus on the in-your-face problems every direction we turn. Just the title alone—cause leading us to God; substance leading us to Spirit, God; law leading us to the perfect law, I am All—directs us out of the darkness.
Thank you, Barbara, for this beacon of enlightenment.
The power of divine Love
[“Three important concepts in healing: cause, substance, and law,” Barbara Fife, August 2015, Journal]
This article is much appreciated for its clear presentation of how to meet material claims that are crying to be seen as reality. Most helpful is the fundamental truth: “Error never has a beginning because God did not create it. It has no cause, no reason for being, and therefore no past for us to remember, to fear, or to lament over.” Concluding with “All is of God, good, and only good” affirms the power of divine Love to meet all needs.
