God’s way is the high way

From the July 2017 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Trusting God’s unfoldment has been one of the hardest things for me to do because I’ve always been a planner. Wanting to see the end from the beginning. Wanting my plan, not someone else’s, to be laid out and followed carefully. My way or the highway!

The human ego struggles for control, but I have been learning that what really counts is yielding to God’s way. God is always in control, over and above human will. Christ Jesus showed us the right approach is, “Not my will, but thine, be done” (Luke 22:42). It is completely logical to know and affirm that God, the all-knowing and all-powerful Mind, is able to care for, direct, and guide us under any circumstance. Mind is supreme intelligence and creates all.

I have found this truth especially helpful to remember when I have found myself in disagreement with others. As I have been learning the spiritual fact that there is only one Mind, God, I have begun to understand that in reality there can be no conflict between God’s children. As the reflection of God, we each reflect the intelligence and harmony of the one divine Mind, and this one intelligent source governs all right motives and actions.
