The Mary Baker Eddy Library contains a treasure trove of historical information about Mary Baker Eddy and the religion she founded, Christian Science—information that is of deep interest to a wide range of scholars who have been engaged in academic dialogue with the Library for many years. The Library believes this dialogue is of interest to a wider audience, hence its podcast, “Seekers and Scholars.” (See marybakereddylibrary.org/events-programs/seekers-scholars-podcast.)
The Library’s website describes the podcast this way: “Mary Baker Eddy dedicated her chief work, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, to ‘honest seekers for Truth.’ The ‘Seekers and Scholars’ podcast series celebrates the spirit of inquiry that is illuminating engagement with Eddy’s life, writings, and ideas in a wide variety of fields.” I spoke with the Library’s Programs Manager (who is also the host of “Seekers and Scholars”), Jonathon Eder, about this podcast and the scholarship that inspired it.
