Dear Friend,
“Gratitude in action.” This phrase from one of this month’s articles was referring to Jesus’ deeds. It made me pause and think about where else we find gratitude in action in the Bible.
Remember how Nehemiah was inspired to organize the rebuilding of the city walls of his ancestors? Gratitude in action. What’s so moving to me is how Nehemiah didn’t let even the most crushing obstacles stop him from prayerful recognition of God’s power. I couldn’t help but think of how many times Nehemiah’s enemies used mockery, threats, and manipulation to try and get him to give up—and yet, he succeeded in his mission.
