I want to share an experience that has proved transformative for me. I am convinced that the outcome of safety and protection was the result of much prayer and study on a regular basis during a period of change involving selling my business and relocating my home. The experience gave me a foundation of absolute confidence in God and greater awareness of my oneness with Him, who is my Life.
I had just acquired a new horse at my new home, having sold my equestrian business a short time previously. This lovely horse was proving to be a real joy to ride, and I had offered to give a young, inexperienced neighbor a short lesson on him. Not having a riding ring or enclosed area, we had arranged to meet in an adjacent field, where this girl could safely be led around.
I arrived at the field before my neighbor and was quietly riding this beautiful horse at a walk on a loose rein, when suddenly he reared up and then careened off up my driveway while I landed in the middle of a wasps’ nest. Unknowingly, I had let my horse step right into a nest in the ground, and both of us were covered with very upset little wasps!
