Early last year I was participating with great love and enthusiasm in a weeklong Christian Science nursing course in Chile, when an alarming atmosphere of fear and negativity began spreading through our country due to the global pandemic.
I work part-time and had taken the week off to attend the Christian Science nursing course in my city. For the past few years I have been taking Christian Science nursing courses, as my desire has been to complete the practical training required to begin a full-time career as a Christian Science nurse, and to provide the physical care people sometimes need while they are praying for healing.
After finishing the course, I continued working at my part-time job, but many difficulties arose. Due to the fear of a widening pandemic, government mandates required us to make changes in the office, such as wearing protective gear that impeded my ability to communicate easily with my clients and colleagues. At the same time, I began feeling the rising negative environment disrupting the naturally harmonious relationships that I had with people around me.
