Several years ago a friend announced that he was tired of always trying to remember, as Christian Science teaches, that what looks like material things to the physical senses are really perceptions or beliefs. In other words, they are entirely mental in nature. He said it was a relief to think of material things, including his body, just being what they appear to be—that is, to see everything as material.
