SERVICES AT SUMMER RESORTS Beginning June 3 and continuing through September 2 Christian Science Sunday services and Wednesday evening testimony meetings will be held at: Yosemite National Park, California, in Church Bow Beginning July 1 and continuing through September 2 similar services will be held at: Chautauqua, New York, in Hall of Christ Tahoe Valley, Lake Tahoe, California, in Christian Science church building Sequoia National Park, California, Lodge Amphitheatre, Giant Forest (Sunday services only) The hours of the services can be ascertained locally. NOTES FROM THE PUBLISHING SOCIETY New Pamphlets The Christian Science Publishing Society is pleased to announce the translation of the following pamphlets: German—Straight On Swedish—Children of Light Swedish—The Need of Consecration These pamphlets are a compilation of helpful articles reprinted from the Christian Science periodicals.
From the Treasurer of The Mother Church Per Capita Tax, as provided in the Church Manual, Article VII I, Section 13, is due annually from "every member of The Mother Church,"' and "shall be forwarded each year to the Church Treasurer. " Payments may be sent during the year at any time between January I and December 31.
APPLICATIONS FOR LECTURES IN JULY AND AUGUST Churches and societies in the United States and Canada wishing to give lectures during the first two months of the next lecture year, namely, July and August, 1951, are requested to inform the Board of Lectureship before May 25. Applicants will be advised about June 15 of the lecturers who will be available during July and August.
In order to meet the needs of increasing numbers of youthful Christian Scientists now being called to active duty with the armed services, the Camp Welfare activities of The Mother Church are being rapidly expanded. The pressing need is for The Mother Church to provide salaries, expenses, and adequate facilities for experienced Christian Science workers at all camps and induction centers, so that our Sunday-School pupils and others may have immediately available the services and support which they may require as students of Christian Science.

FROM THE DIRECTORS Importance of Active Church Membership All activities of the Church of Christ, Scientist, established by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, have but one purpose, to awaken the world to the revelation of Christian Science and thus to bring redemption and healing to mankind. The church in which every member is progressing in his understanding and demonstration of Christian Science, and is individually serving in some useful church activity, is a progressive church.

Inquiries are frequently received from executive boards of branches of The Mother Church as to the procedure followed in interviewing local applicants for membership in The Mother Church. Although due care is exercised by the local examining committee to determine the sincerity and undivided allegiance to Christian Science of each applicant and his readiness for church membership in accordance with the simple requirements of Article IV of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy, every effort is also made to have the applicant feel at ease during the interview, which is conducted in an atmosphere of love and understanding.
LECTURES IN EUROPE Churches and societies in Great Britain and Ireland and on the Continent are reminded that applications for lectures should be made by their clerks in June as promptly as possible after the names of the lectures assigned to those countries are announced, following the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church, and not later than July 1. Those churches and societies which desire to sponsor lectures during July and August should communicate with The Christian Science Board of Lectureship as soon as possible.
