Through the ages there have been wise and courageous individuals who have caught glimpses of the Christ, Truth, and have followed Truth honestly and consistently. Moses was such a one.
" I Will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord. " This precious assurance is given to us by Jeremiah ( 30:17 ).
Centuries ago our great Master, Christ Jesus, assured his followers that they could emulate his works. He said ( John 14:12 ), "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Christian Science can overcome mental abnormality with the law of divine Love. Mental rehabilitation is effected by establishing in consciousness the allness of God, divine Mind, and man's oneness with Him as His image and likeness.
The symbol of a ladder leading heavenward has been used in the book of Genesis ( 28:12 ), where it is recorded that Jacob dreamed, "and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. " To one lost in the wilderness of mortal thinking, it is helpful to know that there is indeed a practical way out of his problems, a sturdy ladder upon which he may steadily progress toward the realization of heaven, harmony.
Everyone at some time looks for a place: a place to live, a place to work, or a place of rest and peace. Some seemingly knotty problems often arise in this search, as when a change of employment or environment seems necessary.
The first instance of group or congregational singing recounted in the Bible is that of Moses and the children of Israel. They praised God for safe passage through the Red Sea and for deliverance from the Egyptians in these words: "I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously.
An experienced Christian Scientist said to me one day, "The mature Christ looks out of the eyes of the child. " If this is so, we should be careful in our work in the Christian Science Sunday School not to limit the pupils by thinking of them as immature.

Especially relevant today to mankind, including Christian Scientists, are the words in the fourth chapter of Zechariah: "Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. " Apparently an angel talked to Zechariah in a night vision, telling him to encourage Zerubbabel, the civil ruler of Jerusalem, in his difficult and sacred task of rebuilding the temple of the Lord.
