Christian Science shows that angels are tangible, vital, spiritual. They come as blessings. It is their divinely outlined purpose to comfort, enlighten, protect, and reveal God's love for man. By making clear to human consciousness what angels are, Christian Science illumines the pages of the Bible wherever the subject of angels occurs.
On page 298 of the textbook, we read, "Angels are not etherealized human beings, evolving animal qualities in their wings; but they are celestial visitants, flying on spiritual, not material, pinions." Having explained what they are not, our beloved Leader then explains what they are: "Angels are pure thoughts from God, winged with Truth and Love, no matter what their individualism may be."
"Angels are pure thoughts from God"! Because God is the one infinite divine Mind, Spirit, what else could angels be? And what could better guide in the daily paths of human experience than the supremely harmonious thoughts of divine intelligence? The humble heart, turning to divine Mind as an ever-present guide, perceives the thoughts of good that we all need.
