Spiritual preparedness is the groundwork of all genuine achievement. This preparedness is gained through prayerful communion with God and consecration to good.
The Bible furnishes evidence of the necessity for and results of spiritually minded preparedness. The life of Moses fitly illustrates the importance of such readiness. While tending the flocks in the wilderness, he was not only learning the topography of the country in preparation for leading the children of Israel out of Egyptian bondage but also communing with God. This early preparation and his willing obedience to God's instructions made his mission possible.
Christ Jesus, from early boyhood, was being prepared for his universal mission of Teacher and Way-shower. He lifted up the Christ-idea in men's consciousness and taught them the oneness and allness of God and man's perfection as His likeness.
