Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

"IF THE LORD BE GOD, FOLLOW HIM"

THE Old Testament records Elijah's exhortation to the people that they depart from idolatrous worship and give undivided loyalty to the one and only God. The narrative reads ( I Kings 18:21 ): "And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him.

"PROVE ALL THINGS"

THE basis and substance of Christian Science practice is the oneness, the allness, of Principle and its idea. The earnest student of Christian Science spends much time in studying and pondering the definitions of God as found on pages 465 and 587 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, for the understanding of Principle, God, carries with it the understanding of man, God's idea, his nature, origin, and substance.

SCIENTIFIC METAPHYSICS

IF someone should ask for a concise formulation of Mary Baker Eddy's contribution to the advancement of human progress, it might be replied that it is the discovery of the practical metaphysics underlying Christ Jesus' works. The study of metaphysics as a theoretical discipline or human philosophy goes back to the early Greeks, and the word "metaphysics" is Greek in origin.

DOING MAN'S WORK

GOD, Love, is all good. Therefore all that can be transmitted to man is good, for good is the only reality.

TO BE IN ONE'S RIGHT PLACE

TO be in one's right place is to be conscious of man's oneness with God, with good alone. Scientifically speaking, there is only one place, the right place: the sense of place which God eternally reveals to His own image and likeness, man.

"TO BLESS ALL MANKIND"

Oft to every man and nation Comes the moment to decide. In the strife of Truth with falsehood, For the good or evil side.

"LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED"

" LET not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me," is the comforting assurance of our Master ( John 14:1 ). Christ Jesus was at all times in communion with his heavenly Father, and he demonstrated the great loving heart of Christ.

THE ACCEPTABLE CONTRIBUTION

PRAYERFUL study of the definition of "Church" which our God-directed Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has given us ( Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 583 ), reveals that the most acceptable contribution one can make to church is his daily realization and demonstration of spiritual truths in overcoming material beliefs.

BREAD FROM HEAVEN

IT is related in the fourth chapter of Luke's Gospel that Jesus was at one time led into the wilderness, where he was tempted of the devil, who ''said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. " And we are told that "Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

LAW

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE is defined by its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, in "Rudimental Divine Science"' ( p. 1 ), "As the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony.
