IN THE FULLNESS OF TIME

THERE is today a prevalent demand for standardization, which would conform everything to certain criterions. A student of Christian Science might perhaps at times become mesmerized by this world-wide tendency towards standardization.

THE BURNING BUSH

THE study of the Bible is to a student of Christian Science an unfailing source of inspiration and profit, for he has learned to look beyond the merely literal meaning of the text and to seek the spiritual message that is conveyed throughout the sacred pages. "AN ANCHOR OF THE SOUL"

THE writer of the epistle to the Hebrews, counseling the brethren to be diligent in seeking the full meaning of the Christian hope, following the example "of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises" of God, urges them "to lay hold upon the hope set before us: which hope," he says, "we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil. " Those who have turned to divine Love seeking to lay hold upon the rich promises held out by Christian Science, learn that this "anchor of the soul" must be cast into the spiritual realm wherein is the presence and power of the Most High.

"DAVID ENCOURAGED HIMSELF IN THE LORD"

IN the thirtieth chapter of I Samuel is the account of David's finding, on his return to Ziklag, that the city had been destroyed and the inhabitants taken captive. His distress was intensified at first when those who were with him "spake of stoning him.

LIMITATIONS PUT OFF

THE educated belief that limitation is inevitable is perhaps the most commonly encountered and the least understood of all human besetments. A dictionary defines "limitation" as a "boundary, restriction, a defining circumstance.

LIFE

EVERY student of Christian Science can and ultimately must declare and realize that God is his Life. No one except Christ Jesus has understood so much of the meaning conveyed by those words as Mrs.

WAKEFULNESS

EVERY earnest Christian desires above all else so to live as to be worthy of that "Well done" bestowed by the Master upon the faithful servant. This reward can come only as the result of consistent alertness—alertness, that is, both to the impotence of evil and to the omnipotence of good.

THE CHALLENGE

WHEN David, the modest shepherd boy, went forth to challenge the arrogant Goliath, his sturdy reliance on the one infinite God beamed forth in the innocence of his countenance and the calmness with which he met the giant foe. With his understanding of love as the law of God, he encountered and overcame the towering, warlike Philistine, recorded as possessing that which mortal mind holds dear—awe-inspiring physicality, bravado, and a sense of might which is but an erroneous material belief.
