Everything in God's universe is controlled by His law of harmony and order. The mortal senses testify to a world in public and private disarray, yet the divine order remains undisturbed, untouched, uninterrupted.
Opinions might vary considerably as to what is the most important healing. What would Christ Jesus, the world's most successful healer, have said? Leprosy, cancer, palsy, blindness, moral delinquency? No! The most important healing in Christian Science is so startlingly different that most people would never think of it as healing: nothing less than step-by-step escape from mortality, from the awful shadow of the belief that we are mere mortals.
One of the facts the "new physics" has shown mankind is that matter is not the continuous, solid stuff the physical senses say it is. In one of his classic lectures, Sir Arthur Eddington, the astronomer, once stated: "That environment of space and time and matter, of light and colour and concrete things, which seems so vividly real to us is probed deeply by every device of physical science and at the bottom we reach symbols.
It is the nature of the carnal mind to oppose spirituality, which it fears. We can find strength and encouragement in the way those who have gone before us have dealt with this opposition.

Christian Science treatment leads to the inspired realization that all is perfect Mind and its perfect, spiritual reflection. Evil in whatever form would deny God's allness.
According to Bible history, King David refused to heed God's command not to number the people. Instead, he allowed Satan to "provoke" him into counting the numerical strength of the Israelites, despite the warning of Joab, captain of David's army.
