The victorious approach to challenges

From the December 1980 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is the nature of the carnal mind to oppose spirituality, which it fears. We can find strength and encouragement in the way those who have gone before us have dealt with this opposition.

Christ Jesus was so confident of God's all-power and of his own ability as the Son of God to express this power that evil's aggressive attacks were made steppingstones to victory. The Christ-idea became clearer to human comprehension because of the crucifixion, proving that God, good, is omnipotent and that His law is a law of life and health to man.

We too can approach every challenge with assurance that spiritual progress is our response to any attack of evil.
