The Church Manual' s Article XXI, Section 2 was adopted in 1899. The next year The Mother Church opened its Reading Room after Mary Baker Eddy made a pointed request to her Board of Directors.

The second and final workshop in Boston took place Tuesday afternoon, when teachers and students from Christian Science Sunday Schools shared experiences from their classes, and university students showed how Science and Health is making a difference on their campuses. The session was opened by Joni Overton-Jung, a member of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship and a Christian Science practitioner in Toronto, Canada.
