One morning the Reading Room attendant came in to find this note waiting: To Whom It May Concern: Thank you for making the Christian Science Sentinel available. While sitting up here, I was able to pray clearly and feel better about God's guidance.

Ready to share Christian Science? Let God open the way. The woman who handles the advertising for our Christian Science radio programs in the local newspaper invited me to a prayer luncheon.

Observing advancements in art, invention, and manufacture a century ago, Mary Baker Eddy wrote, "This age is reaching out towards the perfect Principle of things.

"I often drive past your Reading Room window going to and coming back from my destination. I always hope that there is a traffic light change, so I can sit and look at it.

Letters to the Clerk of The Mother Church Here are excerpts from just a few of the many letters that come to the Clerk of The Mother Church each month. They're examples of the transforming power of our textbooks, the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

Parenting through home and Sunday School training

At home and in Sunday School, children need to be taught the power of the Christ-spirit, which in turn will teach them how to uphold divine standards regardless of how far away from home they may be. This teaching provides an answer to the Psalmist's cry, "How shall we sing the Lord's song in a strange land?" Ps.

How many people who pass by a Christian Science Reading Room know that they have an open invitation to come in and explore Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, a book that makes spirituality practical and relevant to one's life? Reading Room librarians all over the world are asking themselves how they can let more members of their communities know about Science and Health , and they are considering some of the following questions: How has our Reading Room focused its efforts on bringing the message of Science and Health to the community? Has there been evidence that our neighbors are benefited by this book? What has been learned as a result of focusing on Science and Health —are we thinking about the book and the public in new ways? Here are some of their responses: Our Reading Room doors were open wide during our recent Open House, and to us this represented the opening of our hearts to sharing Science and Health with our community. Science and Health was our only focus during this event.

When the advertisement for our upcoming lecture (that I had placed in one of the local biweekly newspapers) appeared just a few days before the lecture, it was full of mistakes. I felt dismayed as well as embarrassed.

Opening celebration of new Christian Science Reading Room in Seattle A full week of events celebrated the opening of Seattle's new jointly-maintained downtown Christian Science Reading Room, just south of the Seattle Art Museum. Included in the special events were the free distribution of copies of The Christian Science Monitor , opportunities to meet Monitor correspondents, a panel featuring career women, an evening of live music and poetry.

A Christian Science Society aids flood relief—with hands, hearts, and a Christian Science lecture Working at the flood relief center, some members of our Christian Science Society became closely acquainted with people whose lives had been affected by the flooding of the Mississippi and Des Moines Rivers. These contacts gave added significance to our preparatory work for a Christian Science lecture, which would address the subject of a secure home in the midst of disaster.
