Until recently there has been little news to share about the important legal case mentioned in the Journal one year ago. See The Church in Action section of the July 1982 Journal.
In the summer, neighborhood children come to duck in the fountain and laugh delightedly among the splashes. Usually they have nowhere else to cool off on hot days.
Dedication of a branch church or society is a public affirmation of the significance of Church in the lives of Christian Scientists. When the edifice is free of debt, churches and societies often hold a dedicatory service.
It is a joy to announce that the focus of the 1983 Annual Meeting will be on the branch Church of Christ, Scientist—the members' love for their branch and The Mother Church's love for the branches throughout the world. The plans for the meeting are as follows.
A branch in Maine has sent along a number of reports prepared especially for The Church in Action section. The experiences were written by individual members after they were reminded (by the clerk of the church) of the article "Magnifying good" that appeared in the December 1981 Journal.
One of the cardinal themes of "The Church in Action" section is the healing role of the individual church member. The following article develops this thought.

From the Committee on Publication Christian Scientists at the turn of the century were well acquainted with the spotlight of public attention. It was no surprise to them to pick up a newspaper and find Christian Science in the headlines.
