THE CHURCH IN ACTION

Annual Meeting 1983

From the December 1982 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is a joy to announce that the focus of the 1983 Annual Meeting will be on the branch Church of Christ, Scientist—the members' love for their branch and The Mother Church's love for the branches throughout the world.

The plans for the meeting are as follows. The Annual Meeting will be held Monday, June 6, in accordance with Article XIII, Section 1, of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy, and every member is welcome to attend. However, rather than hold related sessions or workshops in The Mother Church, The Christian Science Board of Directors is inviting members of branch churches and societies to come together in their individual edifices on Monday evening, June 6, to strengthen their appreciation and demonstration of each branch's own healing mission.

While only the members of The Mother Church may attend the Annual Meeting, the Monday evening meeting in each branch will embrace all of the branch's members. For unity of action, The Mother Church will supply a portion of the content for the meeting, as well as a general format. These meetings afford a wonderful opportunity for members throughout the world to unite in renewed dedication to Church.
