The spiritual law and the legal guards that undergird the perpetuity of the Church of Christ, Scientist, and its form of government are discussed in detail in a pamphlet long available at Christian Science Reading Rooms. The pamphlet is titled "Permanency of The Mother Church and Its Manual.

Does it ever feel like too much of an effort to get to the subway, or join a car pool, for a 20-minute ride to attend a Christian Science lecture? A report by one lecturer from his Asian tour tells of people going through waist-deep waters in order to get to a lecture that was held the day after a typhoon struck. "There was no electric power in the town, so the lecture was given in a blackout with the help of some effective battery-powered fluorescent flashlights.

Healings of children have resulted from the inspiration they gained when listening to the cassette "Before we read," according to reports reaching the Publisher's Agent. The cassette, available at Christian Science Reading Rooms, includes all seven of Mary Baker Eddy's hymns.

Not getting anything out of Sunday School?

Reading Rooms: beacons for mankind

The quality of our neighborhood Should we relocate our church, or can something be done to change the evidence of neighborhoods that are beginning to deteriorate? Are there certain neighborhoods where our churches, Sunday Schools, Reading Rooms, do and do not belong? Not exactly new questions, and the answers are neither new nor automatic. But for Christian Scientists involved in decisions about church property, location, and neighborhood profiles the answers are at the very least hinted at in Christ Jesus' words and actions.
