(Third in a series by the Sunday School Division of The Mother Church)
At the end of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, the Evangelist adds two brief verses packed with meaning: "And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes."Matt. 7:28, 29.
The Christ, Truth, that Jesus practiced in healing gave his words their remarkable spiritual impact. We can draw a lesson from the fact that Matthew 5, 6, and 7 are immediately preceded and followed by accounts of healing.
