Love communicates

From the January 1981 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Communicate? We do it all the time, consciously or unconsciously, vocally or silently. But much more than just words is involved.

What is involved? Attitude. The largest percentage of what we relay is transmitted, not so much by words, but by the underlying tenor of our thought, and the way we communicate. How important, then, that we bring our thought consistently in line with what God, divine Love, is knowing, and allow this knowing to be our knowing! And what does Love know? The real you and me, the reality of each individual idea in Mind.

When we genuinely appreciate each person's true selfhood as the representation of what Love knows, we are truly loving him. This love is felt and allows our thoughts to be conveyed most effectively. Even when differing views are aired, fairness and mutual respect will prevail if love abounds.
