"You haven't lived unless you've done that." We're often told that we're missing something important in life. But to determine whether we should desire that "something" can be quite a challenge.
Knowing what our life really is, we discover what's truly fulfilling. In Christian Science we learn the spiritual truths of life. God creates man to glorify Himself in all His spiritual perfection and completeness. Man lacks nothing in the perfect, holy life that divine Life, God, gives him. Living that life, we have all that is really worthwhile. Mrs. Eddy assures us in Science and Health, "When we realize that Life is Spirit, never in nor of matter, this understanding will expand into self-completeness finding all in God, good, and needing no other consciousness."Science and Health, p. 264.
Whether we're heading toward or away from self-completeness depends on whether we are consciously striving to identify ourselves with our God-created spiritual nature or are searching for fulfillment through material things, thoughts, and conduct, which are at odds with that nature.
