Growth in grace The author of “ Redemption through God’s love ” in the December Journal has proven Christ’s Christianity for himself. Growth in grace and understanding lived and loved through a grasp of the infinite fills this article to overflowing.

Scientific testing Scott Preller’s editorial, “Experiments in Truth,” in the November Journal brings out beautifully the need to apply Science correctly. He writes, “Like any good scientist, we must be willing to do the disciplined work involved.

Insights on Church I’ve wrestled with how to enhance my role as an active church member beyond serving an organization. Geoffrey Barratt’s article in the September 2014 Journal comes as a welcomed blessing to all of us desiring to share healing with our communities and the world.

Effective prayer I’m grateful for the article “ Consider it done ” by Alan Lindgren in the July Journal . He clearly explains why asking our Father for material things or human solutions isn’t effective prayer.

A standout I found the article “ Unconventional prayer ” by Caryl Emra Farkas in the June Journal a standout. Why? Because it’s quite original and encourages us to dig deeper, to ponder.

Invaluable magazines I would like to thank you for the lecture insert with the April Journal. My daughter now and again shares with me articles she gets from JSH-Online.

God’s power—unlimited What I find most important to consider here in the answer to the question in the March Journal as to whether Bible stories are fiction, is not whether some Bible stories are fiction but to ask myself, do I believe that God is capable of delivering me from a den of lions, literally or figuratively? “If a man were in prison, there is a law of God which is applicable to his condition and which, if properly applied, would procure his release. If a man were drowning in mid-ocean with apparently no human help at hand, there is a law of God which, when rightly appealed to, would bring about his rescue.

MISSION OF THE MONITOR I have just finished reading Jeff Ward-Bailey’s helpful interview with John Yemma in the February issue of the Journal , and have rarely seen such a clear explanation of The Christian Science Monitor’ s mission in the world and how it is fulfilling it. I appreciated his explanations about the Monitor’ s pioneering entrance into digital journalism, which I applaud, and the power and the responsibility our new Internet world puts into the hands of the individual.

SIMPLE BUT LOVELY I just had to send a quick note to tell you that I really love the cover of the February 2014 issue . So simple, yet so lovely and illustrative of our Father's loving care.
