Dear Christian Scientists, Imagine yourself sitting next to Emma Easton Newman during the Primary class taught by Mary Baker Eddy in February of 1889. Here is the way Newman described the teacher: "Our Leader's appearance at that time was of a woman many years younger than the recorded number.

'WORTHY ACTIVITIES' The "Worthy Activities" article in the March Journal ["Worthy Activities: Background of Two Church Manual By-Laws," p. 18] is a wonderfully clear, comprehensive, wise, and timely answer to a question I had regarding the Manual By-Laws entitled "Joining Another Society" and "Church Organizations Ample.

WONDERFUL IDEAS Ron Ballard's article ["Thought and Health," February 2009 Journal, p. 28] contained so many wonderful ideas and great examples from the Bible.

JOYOUS, LISTENING, ADAPTING One of the most important articles ever published by the Journal regarding the Christian Science movement is the wonderful story of First Church, Seattle, in the January 2009 edition ["A Church in Transition," p. 12].

LANGUAGE OF LISTENING In the interview with Christiane West Little ["The Language of Listening," December 2008, p. 18], I particularly related to the discussion of falling into a trap of a "holier than thou" attitude toward those who think differently.

INSIGHTFUL ARTICLES I just want to thank you for the wonderful Journals. It is a highlight of every month when the new one arrives, and I save and re-read my old ones, too.

GRATITUDE FOR ARTICLES I just finished reading Jeffrey Hildner's interview with Fenalla Bennetts in the October Journal [p. 18].

DIRECTORS' VISIT TO CUBA I would like to express my deep gratitude for the infinite ways our Father-Mother God cares and provides for all His/Her children. I was blessed by the articles on the visit of the Christian Science Board of Directors to Cuba in the September 2008 Journal [pp.

BLESSING MARRIAGES Though I haven't yet read all of the August 2008 Journal, I just had to write regarding "True Love" (p. 54) by Lynde McCormick, with its moving corroboration by his wife, Andrea.
