Testimonies of Healing

It is with gratitude to God and deep appreciation of Mrs. Eddy that I add my testimony of benefits received through Christian Science.

About four years ago our eldest son was taken suddenly ill while preparing for school. The condition was such that I became greatly alarmed and called in our family physician.

My attention was first attracted to Christian Science by seeing my wife healed in a few hours of a severe attack of pneumonia. A practitioner was called over the long-distance telephone in the evening, and in a short time my wife was better, and by morning she was perfectly free from every symptom.

Christian Science has brought me many blessings since I turned to it several years ago. It appealed to me because it satisfied a longing for spirituality and it was for this reason that I took up the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.

I am very glad to have this opportunity to bear testimony to the healing power of Christian Science. For several years I suffered from indigestion and stomach trouble.

In the one hundred and third psalm we read, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. " Christian Science is the greatest benefit or blessing that ever came into my experience.

About two years ago, in answer to inquiries sent to a magazine which had published several articles on Christian Science, I received from the Christian Science reading room several pamphlets and a copy of Le Héraut de Christian Science. At that time I was steeped in a wholly material education and was trying to understand the cause or origin and effects of matter, without, however, finding any logical conclusion to the so-called scientific hypotheses advanced.

Well knowing that all the help that I have experienced through Christian Science is the omniactivity of Mind expressed, hence wholly impersonal, I send this testimony, hoping that it may help some one else as I have been helped countless times, by the expressions of gratitude through our periodicals. Before investigating the subject of Christian Science, I was a victim of a severe form of intestinal indigestion, and had suffered from this difficulty for years, as well as from throat trouble that I had been subject to from childhood.

I am thankful to God and grateful to Christ Jesus the Way-shower, and to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, for the revelation of the glorious truth which does indeed make free. For the understanding of God which has come to me through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and all of her other writings, together with the literature and the Lesson-Sermons which give us daily food, and for the church services, I cannot in words express my gratitude.

Words cannot express my gratitude for the blessings and the help I have received through Christian Science. I have been healed of a severe throat trouble, with loss of voice, resulting from a cold.
