Testimonies of Healing

I, too , wish to voice my gratitude for Christian Science. Christian Science came into our home several years ago again proving that "man's extremity is God's opportunity.

The blessed years of freedom from bondage to material law, materia medica, and the many ills to which flesh is heir, prompt the sending of this testimony in grateful appreciation of those from others, which, together with the articles in our periodicals—those impersonal missionaries—ever serve to encourage, inspire, and enlighten. A critical operation for the removal of one kidney in preparation for which strong medicine was being taken every two hours was obviated by the happy and unexpected visit to a friend, for an afternoon, who spoke at length of Christian Science and the healing she had experienced of sciatic rheumatism.

Having so much to be thankful for since coming into a knowledge of the truth that makes us free. I think it is about time to express thanks and gratitude through our periodicals.

I am very grateful for the understanding I have of God through the teachings of Christian Science Christian Science was first sought by me several years ago, at which time I was healed of stomach trouble, and since then many quite remarkable healings have been experienced. During the epidemic of influenza I was taken quite seriously ill.

I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me and mine. I first learned what Christian Science is through a dear sister, and I have thanked God many times for the truths it has taught me.

Twenty years ago I was healed of train sickness in its worst form. I never attempted to eat from the time I started on a journey until I arrived at my destination, no matter how many days it took.

I Rejoice in Christian Science because I know it is the truth that our Master said would make men free, free from what? From sin, sickness and death, because there is no life or truth in matter, since God is All-in-all and man is His image and likeness. When my attention was first called to this healing truth, which revealed to our Leader.

With deep gratitude I should like to try and enumerate some of the blessings which Christian Science has brought into my life. When I first began the study of this wonderful Christ-teaching, I was a constant sufferer from neuralgia, indigestion, inaction, and a painful and chronic form of nasal catarrh.

The desire to express gratitude for the many blessings received through Christian Science, together with the hope that my experience may encourage others, impels me to send this testimony to the power of Truth to heal. These words of Jesus, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free," are quoted on one of the front flyleaves of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.
