Testimonies of Healing
Well do I remember the delight with which I habitually attacked a new set of arithmetic examples during my school days, once the teacher had given the explanation necessary to establish in my thought the rule by which to work out the solutions. With the rule at my command, no problem of the set could make me doubt my ability to arrive at the correct answer, provided always that I did my part by way of making correct application of the rule involved.
I wish to express my gratitude with my daughter for the good that has come to us through the study of Christian Science. The healing of burns, which she testifies to, is but one instance of the help she has had both in school and out.
It has long been my desire to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for the many blessings which I have received through its teachings. Just now, when each day brings more and more of spiritual understanding and unfoldment, seems the right time to share with others my joyful gratitude.
I feel that I should acknowledge some of the many blessings that are mine since! began the study of Christian Science several years ago. My first healing was of a heavy, dull pain from which I had suffered ever since undergoing an operation some ten years previously.
Several years ago I first opened my heart to receive the blessings of Christian Science, and the spirit of the Christ indeed came in to sup with me. Many times I had turned a deaf ear to the call, saying, "I am reverent, but not religious: and I cannot make myself believe in creeds and such things.
The unfoldment of the true character of God as taught in Christian Science was such a revelation to me that I was healed of a severe case of catarrh which heal baffled the skill of physicians and all material remedies. I have also been healed of acute indigestion which I had had for several years.
I wish to express through the pages of the Journal my thanksgiving to God and my gratitude to Christ Jesus and to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for all the blessings that have come to me through Christian Science. All the pages of many Journals could not contain them, and like the psalmist I can truly say, "If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered," for I have been lifted also "out of an horrible pit" and I have found a God who "forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases," and who has indeed crowned me "with loving-kindness and tender mercies.
A few years ago I accepted Christian Science as the only hope for health. I had been doctoring for nearly two years previous to this and had lost ground continually until I became so ill that my husband and I came home to stay with my mother.
I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. I have had many healings through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, some of which were instantaneous.
My first personal experience in Christian Science came to me several years ago when, upon locating in an eastern part of the United States, I found it difficult to secure a proper foothold in business. I had exhausted my resources to the extent of being completely out of funds and was well-nigh broken down from worry over my apparent inability to deal with the situation as it confronted me.
