Testimonies of Healing
When I was twelve years of age Christian Science came into our home through a wonderful change brought about in my mother. Physicians had said she could not possibly live six months without an operation, but after two weeks' treatment in Christian Science she returned to us with a light of joy in her face that I had never seen before.
In March, 1911, Christian Science was first brought to my notice. For over two years I had been ill more or less.
Words fail to express my gratitude for the benefits I have received through Christian Science. I can say with the psalmist, "my cup runneth over.
I am grateful to our eternal Father-Mother God for having enabled me to apprehend and find the way to Christian Science, after long searching and suffering. In 1917 I was seized with catarrh of the lungs, chest, and bronchial tubes, together with lingering pleurisy.
Six or seven years ago out boy, a lad sixteen years of age, came home from work one day feeling very ill. He had a high fever, and all through the night was unable to rest on account of coughing.
About eighteen years ago, during a period of physical suffering, I became very much discouraged because the remedies prescribed by physicians brought no relief. Then Christian Science was recommended.
I first heard of Christian Science about thirty years ago, and nineteen years ago, when in California, I met a lady who told me about a wonderful healing she had experienced as a result of reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
When material means had failed to give even temporary relief from constant suffering, I turned to Christian Science as the alternative to self-destruction. Sometime during the half hour's return trip from the practitioner's home the intense pain was relieved, and in a week there was marked improvement and freedom from pain.
Words fail to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done and is doing for me. Over two years ago, when all material remedies failed to give me any relief, I turned to Christian Science for help and in the first treatment received such peace and comfort that I immediately gave up all material remedies.
Words are inadequate to tell all that Christian Science has done for me. I had known of this religion for many years, but not until I was in a condition where everything looked hopeless and I was suffering from extreme nervousness and sleeplessness, did the thought come to me to have treatment.
