Testimonies of Healing
I thank God for the many blessings that have come to me through Christian Science. I have been healed of stomach disorder from which I had suffered for eighteen years, also of nervousness and catarrh; and the desire for strong drink and smoking left me through the help of a practitioner.
About ten years ago I was in a deplorable state of health, suffering from what the doctors called nervous prostration. I was treated by two or three physicians, who finally decided that medicine could not help me.
Ten years ago several physicians told me that I would never be a well woman again; that I had two incurable diseases, namely, valvular heart trouble and a vaginal tumor which had been forming for seven or eight years. I was very much discouraged, as I had two children to bring up, and I could not have an operation performed as the condition of my heart would not allow it.
With a deep sense of gratitude I send this testimony, hoping it will help some one to know that God, good, is the only power. During the winter of 1916 I began to fail in health.
Often in reading the testimonies in our periodicals I have found a thought expressed in such a way that it would bring freedom and light where there had been seeming bondage and I hope my words may help some one. I have been healed of chronic quinsy, and my two little girls have been healed of measles, whooping cough, and chicken-pox.
For the past six years Christian Science has been my only physician. During this time I have been healed of hay fever, fear of lung trouble, constant headaches, and many other ills.
Nearly five years ago I was healed in three days by Christian Science treatment, of so-called intestinal tuberculosis, peritonitis, the effects of ptomaine poisoning, neurasthenia, throat trouble, and weak voice continuing after six operations, also many complications; but more than all else was the spiritual and mental healing. I was as unhappy and restless in thought in the orthodox church as I was sick in body under materia medica.
I Have had abundant proof that God is an ever present and available power under any condition. In October, 1908, after all material remedies had failed, so that I was facing a future of invalidism, at the urgent request of a sister who had been instantaneously healed of a structural defect of the eyes through Christian Science, I reluctantly consented, to give it a trial.
Christian Science was brought to me when I was most miserable, and after reading "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mrs. Eddy for some weeks I applied to a practitioner for treatment.
About nine years ago in my search for health I was drawn to Christian Science. Too convincing have been the proofs of the power of divine Love in the intervening years to allow me to doubt for an instant its efficacy under any condition.
