Testimonies of Healing

For over three years I have enjoyed the wonderful help of Christian Science. From childhood I had felt a great lack of something in my life, but could not understand what it was and never hoped to have the need supplied in the present world.

Christian Science has brought so much happiness and health into my life that I feel more and more grateful every day for this healing truth. I heard of it twelve years ago from my daughter, to whom some of the literature had been sent, and she was very anxious that I should try it.

For countless benefits which are mine through sharing in that unspeakable gift, Christian Science, and for the enrichment and regeneration of thought received through our periodicals, I acknowledge with deep gratitude my indebtedness to God and to our wise and loving Leader. Often in the study of the Lesson-Sermon or while reading the literature I feel that treasures beyond price have been placed in my hands.

When I first seriously took up the study of Christian Science, I was a physical and mental wreck, suffering from inherited neurasthenia and all the ills associated with it, culminating in loss of speech, paralysis, loss of memory, and other ills. My healing was not instantaneous; but in five or six months I had recovered lost faculties.

I have had so many healings through Christian Science that I hardly know what to tell first. The one that stands out most clearly, however, was the overcoming of inflammatory rheumatism.

In the fall of 1913 I was stricken with a severe attack of eye trouble, and my sight was so poor that I was found to be a nuisance in school, for I could not read or write. One of the best specialists in the city said he would cure me by the first of the next year.

My experience with doctors caused me to turn to Christian Science, which our Leader says is "the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony" (Rudimental Divine Science, p. i ).

I desire to express my gratitude for the instantaneous healing of grief and loss when my brother passed on four years ago. He was not a Christian Scientist and was under medical treatment.

It is with a heart overflowing with gratefulness that I testify to the great blessings which have come to me through Christian Science, as indeed I owe to this truth all that I hold dearest on earth. I suffered with facial neuralgia from infancy up to the age of sixty-three years, when after turning to Christian Science I was healed of this trouble, and for fourteen years enjoyed, almost without interruption, perfect health.
