Testimonies of Healing

My greatest desire for some time has been to tell through our literature of the many benefits that have come to me and mine through Christian Science. For years I was subject to colds in the fall, and they would continue through the winter, leaving me with a severe cough, which was most annoying not only to myself but to all around me.

My most earnest desire is that this testimony may prove the means of leading some one who is weary and heavy laden, and who is seeking deliverance from inharmonious conditions, to the way of Truth as found in Christian Science. For many years untold blessings have come to me through its teachings.

I can only try to put into words what Christian Science has done for me. Because of my frailty from babyhood it was thought that I had inherited lung trouble.

Christian Science has removed such a terrible dread from my life, and also prevented so many years of physical suffering, that I rejoice in the opportunity to tell others and so perhaps lift a cloud of fear and discouragement from them. About ten years ago I was operated on for the removal of a growth in the right breast, which had first been noticed several years previous, and at the time the operation was decided upon was increasing much more rapidly than it had been.

I am very thankful to be able to state that I was healed in Christian Science of nervous breakdown contracted through thirteen years of heart trouble, catarrh, and fear of lung trouble, which was considered hereditary in our family. I am also grateful to have learned to forgive all who have ever wronged me; in fact, to love my enemies, because "love is the fulfilling of the law.

I am very grateful for Christian Science, through which I was healed of rheumatism and other ailments, and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, the author of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

During the years that I have known of Christian Science, many blessings have been received, and for some time my desire has been to express my gratitude through the Journal or Sentinel for the joy that this beautiful truth has brought me. It has healed me of chronic melancholy, and has lifted me out of a sinful life and a desire to die, giving me instead a desire to live in loving service to God and to my fellow man.

When "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy was placed in my hands, I was helpless and hopeless, unable even to turn myself in bed, where I had lain for six years suffering from what was described as a spinal complaint.

Only those who have suffered in a similar way can know what I endured from gall-stones, appendicitis, and yellow jaundice. The best of doctors had treated me, but no relief was experienced except from an opiate.

I can testify to the above testimony as a truthful statement of what Christian Science has done for my wife and family. It has enabled me to see things in a different way and has been a great help to me in my business— C.
