Testimonies of Healing

Christian Science found me at a time when I had given up all hope of ever being well again, as I was a victim of a serious internal disorder of several years' standing for which materia medica had been tried without avail. One day a lady told me of Christian Science, saying that God did not make me ill and that He could heal me.

To say that I am thankful for what Christian Science has done for me is but feebly to express my feeling. This teaching has helped me and mine most wonderfully, in sickness, in sorrow, and during a mental strain that at times seemed unendurable.

It is about fifteen years since I first heard of Christian Science and attended a Wednesday evening meeting. Although I understood but little English at that time, yet I felt much uplifted spiritually, which goes to show that the real language is spiritual.

Christian Science has done so much for me in bringing peace, love, and harmony into my life, which before seemed filled with discord, despair, and evil, that words fail to express my thankfulness to God, and my gratitude to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy.

It is with the greatest thankfulness to God and gratitude to Mrs. Eddy that I write this testimony of the power of Spirit over matter.

In 1912 I was suddenly attacked with a severe case of peritonitis while confined to bed with kidney trouble. The physicians in charge held a consultation and sent me to a hospital, where an operation was performed.

I was healed of serious sickness by Christian Science. All hope had been given up when, at the advice of a dear friend and as a last resort, a Christian Science practitioner was called in to give me treatment.

It is with a feeling of sincere gratitude that I tell of the many blessings which have come to me through Christian Science. While waiting in the reception room of an American lady dentist I found a copy of Science and Health, in which I became very much engrossed; but later, under the pressure of various activities I lost recollection of it.

It is now over ten years since I took up the study of Christian Science for relief from physical ills. I had never been well, in fact was suffering from almost every ill to which flesh is heir.

Having been healed through Christian Science, and having received much benefit and encouragement from reading the testimonies of others, I give mine to the field in the hope that it. may uplift some weary wanderer searching for the truth that makes free.
