Testimonies of Healing
My heart is filled with a deep sense of gratitude for Christian Science, to which I turned as a last resort when materia medica could do no more. For over two years my face was very badly broken out, so badly sometimes that I was ashamed to be seen; but Christian Science healed me.
It is with a heart full of gratitude for the many blessings we as a family have received in Christian Science that I write this testimony. That God is a present help in trouble was surely proven to me in a street-car accident.
The joy that came to me with Christian Science makes me feel so grateful that I needs must do unto others as I have been done by; in other words, help to spread the glad tidings of peace on earth. It has not been long since I became vitally interested in this wonderful truth, yet I feel that more has been accomplished during this time than in all the years before.
It is indeed a privilege to express my heartfelt gratitude for the protection and peace which Christian Science enables us to demonstrate. A short time ago my husband was called upon to do some surveying of a somewhat dangerous nature amidst coral reefs in tropical waters.
My healing in Christian Science took place eleven years ago, and the time has come for me gratefully to offer my testimony. In the midst of a busy life of consecrated religious work I was suddenly stricken with a severe illness.
When I first heard of Christian Science a few years ago, I never thought that its teachings would become of such vital importance to me as has since proved to be the case. While it was taken up more out of curiosity than because of any apparent physical need, the study of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.
For twelve years I was afflicted with a sore finger. Two physicians were consulted, one of whom explained to me that the trouble was the result of a form of nervous disease, while the other impressed upon me that eventually amputation of the hand would be necessary.
Like many others I came to Christian Science for physical healing, never realizing the joy and happiness that is in store for all who turn to this religion. Through the help of a practitioner my eyes were healed in a very short time and I was able to lay aside glasses which had been worn almost constantly for ten years on account of a structural defect.
At the age of five a childhood malady left my system in a tainted condition, according to the pronouncement of physicians, and neither medicine nor hygiene even alleviated it. As the years passed, the physique wasted and weakened until young womanhood was reached, when, after the case was finally pronounced practically incurable, I turned to Christian Science as the last available means of cure.
Christian Science found me despondent, in poverty, full of fear, and without trust in myself or any one else. I thought the world and every one in it was against me, and that I might as well get out of it.
