Testimonies of Healing

I came to Christian Science about four years ago during the illness of my little daughter, who had been operated upon for tubercular glands of the neck. After four and a half months of medical treatment by reputable physicians the wounds did not heal.

Although the study of Christian Science was not taken up to gain physical benefit, I am today a better man physically, mentally, and morally in consequence of growth in the understanding of its Principle. During the past twelve years no material remedies of any sort have been used, but all discordant conditions have been overcome in Christian Science, including stomach disorder, sleeplessness, headaches, colds, and influenza.

I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. It has truly proven that "man's extremity is God's opportunity.

When Christian Science came to me I was very ill with lung trouble, and the doctor said there was no hope for me. A friend then sent me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.

I wish to relate an experience which to me was a convincing proof of the healing power of Christian Science. In the fall of 1911 I was bed-fast with an attack of bowel trouble, and in a few days my condition became alarming.

It has been wonderfully proven to me that God is indeed the great Physician. For seven years after the birth of my child I was in very poor health; in fact I had been delicate all my life.

I first heard of Christian Science through a dear friend of my sister, one who had received many benefits from it. My little boy, aged four years, who had been under the doctor's care for fifteen months with ear and nose trouble, was operated on but gradually grew worse.

For eighteen years I was a sufferer from what is known to the medical profession as hay-fever and asthma. As the years passed, the asthmatic condition became so bad it was wearing me out, and while recognizing that the many physicians to whom I went were doing all they could, I also knew that this is one of the diseases for which materia medica has no cure.

Many blessings have come into my life through Christian Science, which was brought to my notice over eight years ago by the healing of my friend, Miss Lemon, who touched the hem of Christ's garment while reading Science and Health. Since that time she is certainly a new creature in Christ Jesus, and her healing has been a blessing to many.

I did not seek Christian Science for the healing, though it was needed very much. Always an earnest seeker after truth, the Bible was my constant companion, and every book that would throw light on its teaching I was eager to read.
