Testimonies of Healing

I became interested in Christian Science about nine years ago, and I would like to express my thankfulness to God, and my gratitude to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the spiritual help I have received since studying "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

When I came to Christian Science three years ago, I was suffering from a stomach difficulty, lung trouble, kidney and bladder disorder, as well as from several minor ailments. I had not taken any substantial food for eighteen months, and I had lost greatly in weight, for I was starving in a land of plenty.

Nine years ago, after being bedfast most of the time for three years and given up by physicians, who said it was "just a matter of time," a letter was received telling of the healing power of Christian Science. Following it came a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.

It is with a grateful heart that I testify to the blessings which God has bestowed upon me through Christian Science. In November,1913, I was taken ill with appendicitis.

Shortly after Christian Science came into my life, I had a very practical demonstration of the healing power of Truth. On my way to attend a Thanksgiving service at First Church, London, I was hurrying to catch a train running into a district station, when I fell from the top step.

My heart is so full of gratitude for the many blessings which Christian Science has brought into my life, that I cannot keep my story of God's love from the pages where it might reach and possibly help others. I was born near Boston over thirty years ago and was motherless when two weeks old.

A few years ago I was taken ill with pleurisy, which left me in a delicate state of health and subject to colds. Besides this I had a chronic bronchial trouble, accompanied by shooting pain, and sudden shortness of breathing which was liable to set in at any moment.

With a deep sense of gratitude I give this testimony of the healing work done through Christian Science for a seriously injured arm. In October,1912, while in a New York store transacting some business, I fell on a highly polished floor, striking on my right elbow.

As I feel so much gratitude for Christian Science, my only regret is that I have not made a more public acknowledgment of its benefits. Some years ago I was a miserable sufferer, discouraged and disheartened with the countless inconsistencies in the world, and especially in the religious teachings of my childhood.

I began to read the Christian Science literature about nine years ago, and finding so much truth therein, I decided to have treatment for an ailment to which I had been in bondage since I was a young girl. I was healed by absent treatment in a very short time, although I had tried medicine many times and failed to find relief; so I was without help until I found it in Christian Science.
