Testimonies of Healing
I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. It is just twelve years since I heard of this teaching through a friend.
In Science and Health we read that "every trial of our faith in God makes us stronger" ( p. 410 ); and I have proved this, for I have had many trials and thereby found my strength.
I am deeply grateful for the help Christian Science has been to me. My life has had quite a new light shed upon it through the study of Mrs.
For some time the thought has been before me to send in my testimony. Christian Science has given me a new hope in life, a reason to live.
A few years ago I was critically ill with typhoid fever. Being Christian Scientists, both my husband and I worked very earnestly, according to our understanding, but I grew worse.
" The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. " This was made most clear to me early in 1913, when I was healed of what seemed to be serious injuries.
In thankfulness to God, and gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, I give my testimony to the power of Christian Science to heal.
At the age of ten I was spiritually awakened. I shall never forget the great peace that came to me, and from that day to this I have never doubted God in His protecting care over me.
It is with a grateful heart that I wish to tell of the blessings and benefits which have come to us through Christian Science and how we were led to experience these. About five years ago our only daughter became afflicted with a severe nervous trouble, and although we consulted several physicians, the trouble grew more severe, till her condition was such that she had to be watched practically all the time, as things would otherwise go wrong.
My attention was first drawn to Christian Science by the healing, in a few weeks, of a member of our family who had tried doctors and various remedies for two years without benefit. While I saw this healing, I was really more impressed by the change in this person's disposition, for she had become patient and loving, whereas she had been the reverse.
