Testimonies of Healing

Before I heard of Christian Science I had suffered from extreme nervousness for twenty years, roughly speaking. I am a professional musician, and public performance caused me such mental and physical torture that at one time I contemplated ending my life, and should probably have done so if I had had the courage.

For some time I have been thinking that I ought to send my mite for publication. We all have many things for which to be thankful, but are oftentimes loath to express our thanks for fear they may not be worded as they should be.

In loving gratitude for the awakening to newness of life which Christian Science has brought to me, I send this testimony as a faint indication of thankfulness for blessings received, for very often our deepest healings must go unvoiced. Only the heart itself knows what hidden springs have been released, what purgings and purifyings have been effected within, by this searchlight of Truth, laying bare waste places often unknown to ourselves.

In April, 1910, Christian Science came to me, and with a heart full of gratitude I will tell what it has done for me. During nine years I had been in a condition of weakness, as if weights were laid on my shoulders, and all exercise fatigued me.

I have had a wonderful demonstration in Christian Science, and it has proved to me beyond a doubt that God is All-in-all. For five years I had a nervous disease, according to materia medica, which manifested itself on my hands.

The testimonies of the healing power of Truth have been so helpful to me that I desire to tell others of my thankfulness to God for the wonderful healing which came to me through Christian Science. Twelve years ago I barely recovered from an acute attack of illness which left a chronic stomach trouble that doctors were unable to relieve.

It is with deep joy and a sense of utmost gratitude that I wish to testify to the many blessings received,—the proofs of the power of Truth as found in Christian Science. Six years have elapsed since I became acquainted with its teachings.

I became interested in Christian Science through the healing of our child. In February, 1908, our little daughter had a severe illness which developed into acute lung trouble.

I desire to give my testimony in gratitude for the good I have received in Christian Science. About four years ago I was in a hopeless condition, discouraged and tired of living, if I could not have better health.

ABOUT four years ago the scales fell from my eyes through the healing power of Christian Science; but I find it is impossible for me to relate with words or pen what this glorious revelation means to me. However, I want to give praise and thanks for my redemption.
