Testimonies of Healing
I would like to bear witness to the redemptive power of Christian Science by giving this testimony. Years ago, when I was living in Austria, I witnessed a remarkable Christian Science healing.
My last testimony was published in December 1955 in the Journal . The healings mentioned have been permanent.
I am deeply grateful to God, our Father-Mother, who guides our steps. Gratitude and love, expressed and received, have truly regenerated me.
Ten years ago, as a result of friendly conversations with Christian Scientists and reading the book A Century of Christian Science Healing , my interest in this religion was roused. It is because I consider membership in the Church of Christ, Scientist, to be a blessing and privilege, that I submit the following testimony.
The knowledge that neither we nor our children nor indeed anyone can ever be outside God's protection and love has given our family great cause for thanksgiving. Once, when our daughter was three years old and we were spending the day at the seashore, she and her brother held hands and ran in and out of the waves.
When I was a small child I had an asthmatic condition, and my parents sought healing for me through Christian Science. When I wasn't readily healed, in their loving concern for me they chose instead to rely on medical means.
When he was eleven years old, our elder son was stricken with lockjaw. The disease resulted from an injury he had sustained two weeks earlier.
Since I began the study of Christian Science twenty-five years ago, the blessings that have come to me and my family are without measure. With four children to bring up, there has been ample opportunity to prove the healing power of Christian Science.
On a warm afternoon last May while coming into our house through the laundry room (which is part of the garage), I felt a sharp pain in my right foot. Looking down, I saw what appeared to be a rattlesnake, disappearing under the washing machine.
I am so deeply grateful for Christian Science that I feel I must speak out, since someone else may benefit from my experiences. About three years ago I felt I had lost everything.
