Testimonies of Healing
In September 1958 my first testimony was printed in the Journal . I never dreamed that the beautiful teachings of Christian Science could continue to bless me and mine so abundantly in the more than twenty-five years since then! The spiritual growth, lovely healings of physical, business, and other types of difficulties, have continued to come about through radical reliance on God for healing as taught in Christian Science.
At one time I suffered a serious knee injury in a skiing accident. In accordance with standard procedures I was removed from the slopes and taken to a hospital.
I wish to express my gratitude for having had a home where Christian Science was a way of life even before I was born. My first expression of thanks is for my parents.
For the many individuals who have contributed to my growth in Christian Science, I would like to express my deepest gratitude. Having been raised by parents who are both Christian Scientists, I grew up in an atmosphere of deep love and joy.
During adolescence I had a very irregular menstrual cycle, and because of it, I was taken to various gynecologists by my mother. After several consultations I was told that time and maturity might resolve the problem, but these visits to doctors left me feeling uncertain and humiliated Years later, after I had become a student of Christian Science and during my second year of marriage, all menstrual action ceased.
One summer when I was in college, I was invited by some friends to go on a three-day sailing trip. The night before our departure, we all went down to the boat so we could get an early start the next morning.
In Christian Science we learn that no material condition can prevent any of us from being where we can properly develop. There are no boundaries or restrictions that can bar us from claiming our true heritage as the happy and satisfied children of God.
During the years that our two children were growing up, many physical healings took place that were milestones along the path of our spiritual progress. When our daughter appeared to break her wrist, she missed only a day or so of school.
After a happy and relatively carefree childhood, I looked forward to a career in art. Instead, while I was still in my late teens, severe financial reverses in my family's fortunes resulted in my going to America, where I had to fend for myself.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy. (Psalms 107:2) With great joy I send this testimony of a recent healing.
