A few years ago I turned wholeheartedly to the study of Christian Science. After making this commitment to know God better, I started to read the Bible Lesson daily, instead of my previous hit or miss approach. Soon I applied for and was accepted into membership both in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, where I had been attending regularly, and in The Mother Church [The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts].
During this time it occurred to me that I should think about taking class instruction in Christian Science. I really knew very little about exactly what was involved humanly in taking this step. However, I did know that what mattered most was my desire to gain more understanding of what God and His creation are all about.
I found that in reading the Christian Science periodicals there was one writer, in particular, whose expression was especially clear and understandable to me. So I wrote to him to say that I appreciated his articles. When I learned that he was an authorized Christian Science teacher, I applied to him for class. Later I was interviewed and then accepted.
