I saw myself saying to one in need,
"Don't let your heart become discouraged."
A pleasant panacea . . .
a soothing salve for one who smarts,
is that it?
There seems a gap . . .
can one whose wounds are throbbing
quiet another's ache?
Then it rang, as true for me
as for another—
straight from God, our Father-Mother:
It was for me a beckon to awake
and claim the prize and be set free.
O heart, rejoice!
What I thought was for another
was just as much for me!
