At one time I suffered a serious knee injury in a skiing accident. In accordance with standard procedures I was removed from the slopes and taken to a hospital. Doctors said that ligaments were badly torn and that an operation to rebuild the knee would be necessary. I was also warned that even with an operation my leg would never be quite the same again.
I declined surgery, returned home, and prayed in Christian Science concerning the injury. In a matter of weeks I was completely recovered, and I have long since returned to playing tennis, jogging, and even skiing. No trace of the injury remains.
At another time while I was out of the country on business I suffered a severe pain. Under the circumstances of my work arrangement, I was required to see a doctor. He diagnosed the problem as a large kidney stone and recommended surgery, adding that without the surgery he felt that there would be continued pain and certain risks.
