Where our mission begins

From the June 1984 issue of The Christian Science Journal

What is the Christian Scientist's mission? To simply make the body better? To become more affluent and more comfortable in matter? To tell fellow church members, or others, how to do things?

No, it's none of these. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, clearly states, "The emphatic purpose of Christian Science is the healing of sin . . . ."Rudimental Divine Science, p. 2. How do we do that?

Doesn't it start with honestly examining not others but ourselves? We all have to ask ourselves frequently, "How well am I doing at putting off sin?"
