One new healing each week

From the June 1984 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It was all a misunderstanding. I had thought I was required to be prepared to testify to a healing every week at the Wednesday evening testimony meeting of my branch Church of Christ, Scientist.

As a new student of Christian Science I had such an abundance of things needing healing to choose from, it was easy to find a new one to tackle each week. The weeks, though, did seem almost too short. I had so much to learn so fast. But it was a joyous time. The days were filled with expectancy of good. And as I learned more and more about God's great love, His goodness, His allness, and my relationship to Him as His beloved child, the healings came, as of course they always will.

Then, before too long, I found out it had all been a misunderstanding. One wasn't necessarily expected to testify every week. One wasn't even required to have a brand-new healing every week. I'm often sorry I ever found that out!
