Testimonies of Healing
For over thirty years, since I began the study of Christian Science, I have relied solely on God for healing. Mind, God, has been my only medicine.
When I was a small girl, a relative spoke to my parents of Christian Science. Although they did not accept Science, the talk made a deep impression on me.
Christian Science has been my only physician since the age of six years, and that of my family since marriage. I well remember in my boyhood when my mother, after three years confinement in a sanatorium, got rid of all medicines.
Some years ago, as I was traveling in another country, the car went out of control while moving at high speed. It rolled over a cliff and down into a hollow.
I wish to express my gratitude for the healing truths of Christian Science in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and in her other writings.
My daughter was nine years old when our family spent some vacation days in a tent by Lake Constance. Because of poor weather, we soon returned home.
Although I was brought up in Christian Science and saw its healing efficacy proved repeatedly, I stubbornly clung to the smoking habit. When my desire for spiritual progress became urgent enough for me to seek church membership, I decided that in addition to daily studying the Lesson Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly I would also read several pages of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs.
Gratitude has continued to grow in my heart for all that Christian Science has done for me and my family over the years. My first healing in Christian Science came after the aunt with whom I was living gave me a copy of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs.
Although I had attended Christian Science Sunday School as a child, I drifted away from its teachings after marriage. Many years of physical suffering, which resulted from cesarean operations at the births of my two daughters, brought me back to this wonderful religion.
It is with great joy that I wish to testify to the blessings that my family and I have received through the teachings of Christian Science. We were living in a small city in the interior where work was scarce and life was very difficult.
